Cookie notice

This Cookie Notice explains how Grimaldi Tooling Ltd. uses cookies and similar storage technologies on the Grimaldi storefront and customer accounts (together, the “Site”). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return, the browser sends the cookie back so the site can recognise the session, your preferences, and other context. The Site also uses related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. We refer to all of these together as “cookies” in this notice.

Cookies can be set by Grimaldi (“first-party”) or by a service operating on our behalf (“third-party”). They can be short-lived and expire when you close the browser (“session” cookies), or persist across visits until they expire or are deleted (“persistent” cookies).

Strictly necessary

These cookies are required to operate the Site and cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality. They support sign-in and authenticated sessions, secure form submission, fraud and abuse prevention, load balancing, and cart and checkout state. They do not store information used for advertising.

Functional

Functional cookies remember the choices you make so the storefront renders consistently between visits. Examples include display region and currency, density preference for table views, and the last-used filter set on catalogue pages. Disabling them does not break the Site but will reset these preferences on each visit.

Performance and analytics

Analytics tell us which pages are used so we can fix problems and improve the Site. We use our own page and event counter, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, and, where enabled, Plausible and PostHog. Our own counter, Vercel and Plausible do not set cookies; PostHog does. All of them are non-essential, and none of them loads or sends anything until analytics are on for you. Whether they start on or off depends on where you are: they are off until you turn them on if you are in Quebec, in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, anywhere else outside Canada and the United States, or if we cannot tell where you are. Elsewhere in Canada and in the United States they are on, and you can turn them off at any time.

Security and observability

Security cookies and event logs help us detect and stop attacks, unusual session patterns and errors. They are part of how we protect accounts, checkout and the catalogue.

Marketing

We do not run advertising or advertising cookies on the Site. If this changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent before enabling any.

The third-party services that run in your browser on the Site are Stripe (checkout and payment, essential), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection, essential where enabled), Mapbox (the dealer map), Help Scout (support chat, where enabled), and, only if you allow analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, Plausible and PostHog. Each is described, with what it receives, in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.

Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through the browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Site from working. For example, you may not be able to sign in or complete checkout.

To choose whether analytics run, use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. Your choice is saved in a cookie on your device for one year, takes effect straight away, and always overrides the default for your location. Essential cookies cannot be switched off there, because the Site does not work without them.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out wherever you are: analytics stay off unless you turn them on yourself under Cookie preferences. Our own page counter also respects the Do Not Track setting.

We may update this Cookie Notice as our use of cookies evolves or to reflect changes in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always shows the most recent revision.
